Development Focus

• Located in the east coast of the Greater Bay Area and on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao sci-tech innovation corridor, Dongguan is a centre of global manufacturing which has formed a comprehensive manufacturing system covering more than 60 000 types of products across 30 industries, providing more than 90% of parts and accessories for IT products. One in every five smartphones in the world is produced in Dongguan.
• Seeks to develop itself into a national innovation-driven city. It has the world's fourth and the country's first Spallation Neutron Source as well as more than 5700 national high-tech enterprises. Dongguan will jointly develop a comprehensive national science center with Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Development platforms under planning include a neutron science city of 53.3 sq. km and Dongguan Binhaiwan New District of 83.2 sq. km.
• Under the strategic planning of the Greater Bay Area and building a high-quality city, it will take forward six projects to improve the city, expand its scope of development, enhance industries, support grassroots, improve well-being of people, and deepen reform to develop a centre for advanced manufacturing in the Greater Bay Area. By fostering commercial application of technological achievements, deepening reform and cooperation, and striving for quality living and services, Dongguan is to develop into a key node city of the Greater Bay Area.
