The Civil Aviation Administration has issued the implementation opinions on supporting the coordinated development of civil aviation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on 15 July 2020. In order to achieve the two-stage development goals of 2025 and 2035 and fully build a world-class airport cluster that is safe, coordinated, green, smart and humane, the implementation opinions put forward 11 specific tasks in 5 aspects, including building a new pattern of regional coordinated development, building world-class infrastructure, creating higher-level aviation services, promoting air-ground integrated transportation and promoting the interactive development of the civil aviation industry. The opinions also propose safeguard measures to strengthen organization and coordination, increase policy support, prevent and resolve major risks and encourage active participation of the society. At the same time, a new pattern of coordinated regional development will be established in the Greater Bay Area, driven by mutiple cores of international aviation hubs in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and multi-point linkage of airports in Macao and Zhuhai. Since the implementation opinion is an internal document, it has not yet been released to the public.
