On 13 October 2021, the People’s Government of Foshan issued the “Various Measures on Further Optimizing Port Business Environment and Promoting Cross-Border Trade Facilitation”. The measures aimed to improve the convenience of cross-border trade in Foshan and further optimize the port business environment, including 5 aspects such as optimizing custom clearance procedures, simplifying document processing requirements, standardizing port charges, reducing costs, improving port hardware and software facilities, and optimizing service environment of cross-border trade. Among them, specific measures include the promotion and implementation of the “Nansha One Port Link” and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area “Combined Port” project, providing certain subsidy funds to the operators of the port terminal in terms of the containers imported and exported through the combined port and the Bay Area One Port Link model.
