On 22 April 2022, the General Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government issued the “Implementation Plan for the Construction of Wealth Management and Asset Management Centres in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Guangzhou”. The implementation plan clarifies the overall requirements, key tasks, and organizational guarantees for the construction of cross-border wealth management and asset management centres in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Among them, the key tasks have 20 articles including cultivating wealth management and asset management headquarter clusters in Guangzhou with “one city, one port and one bay” as the core, innovating cross-border asset management products in the Greater Bay Area, and promoting the facilitation of cross-border capital flows.
