The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province (“the authorities”) issued the “The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province Implementing Work Plan for “Various Measures in relation to Release Potential Tourism Consumption and Promote High-quality Development in the Tourism Industry”” (“the Notice”) on 1 December 2023. The authorities announced the establishment and improvement of policies for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao individual travel scheme for yachts. Policies shall be launched, explored, and innovated regarding the entry and exit customs clearance, regulatory inspections, port facilities, license recognition, and navigation area planning for yachts registered in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. Joint promotional activities shall be conducted with Hong Kong and Macao to promote the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a world-class overseas tourist destination, attracting international travel agencies to visit the Greater Bay Area and Guangdong Province.
