On 11 January 2024, the General Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality issued the “Various Measures for Promoting High-quality Development of the Biomedical Industry in Guangzhou” (“the Measures”). The Measures encourage investment in biomedical projects from Qualified Foreign Limited Partner (“QFLP”) and Qualified Domestic Limited Partner (“QDLP”), support qualified biopharmaceutical investment institutions to apply for QFLP/QDLP pilot, encourage QFLP funds prioritize investment in biomedical enterprises, support those QDLP institutions to invest in international biomedical projects through foreign investment and successfully settle in Guangzhou Bio-Island. The Measures are effective from 11 January 2024 and will be valid for three years.
