On 18 February 2024, the People’s Government of Zhongshan Municipality issued the “15 Measures for Building a Strong City of Science and Technological Innovation in Zhongshan Municipality” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to deepen the cooperation in science and technology innovation between Hong Kong and Macao, support science and technology enterprises in Zhongshan Municipality to jointly cooperate with higher educational institutions in Hong Kong and Macao to achieve technology breakthroughs, transform achievements, and joint laboratories set-up etc. In addition, the Measures proposed to provide subsidy to enterprises awarded by State and the Province prize, collaborate with the “Industry-University-Research 1 + Plan” project with investment of HK$10 billion in Hong Kong and offer a maximum of RMB1 million funding to project that settled in Zhongshan Municipality. The Measures will be implemented from 18 February 2024 and will be valid for 2 years.
