The Ministry of Education in Guangzhou Municipal Liwan District, Guangzhou Laisui Personnel Service Administration (“the authorities”) issued the “Implementation Measures in relation to the Points-based School Enrolment Scheme for Accompanying Children of Residents Coming to the Guangzhou Municipal Liwan District (2024 Revision)” (“the Notice”) on 25 April 2024. The authorities announced that the Measures are formulated to further improve the work of compulsory education to accompanying children of residents coming to the Guangzhou Municipal Liwan District for employment, entrepreneurship, living and studying. The accompanying children of residents coming to Guangzhou Municipality who are admitted to public schools shall directly enjoy free compulsory education. For those admitted to private schools subsidized by the government, can deduct miscellaneous fees according to relevant regulations. These Measures shall be effective from 25 April 2024 and valid for 5 years.
