The Office of the People’s Government of Zengcheng District of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Implementation Measures for the Compulsory Education for Accompanying Children of Residents Coming to the Guangzhou Municipal Zengcheng District (Revision)” (“the Notice”) on 10 May 2024. The authorities announced that accompanying children of residents coming to the Guangzhou Municipality, living in Zengcheng District, who are applicable to the compulsory education policy, may arrange to “attend public schools according to proximity” after application materials being verified by the district Education Bureau or the local Teaching Guidance Center according to the policy. These Measures shall be effective from 10 May 2024 and valid for 3 years.
