On 11 May 2024, the Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality issued the “Various Measures for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Safety, Energy Conservation, and Environmental Protection Industry Cluster in Shenzhen Municipality” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to actively promote the pilot construction of carbon footprint in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and continuously improve the public service platform for carbon footprint labelling certification in the Greater Bay Area and support enterprises in conducting carbon footprint verification. For enterprises that obtain the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area carbon footprint labelling certification, an award of up to RMB100,000 per certificate shall be provided with a maximum of 3 certificates per year for each enterprise. The Measures will be implemented from 23 May 2024 and will remain valid for a period of 5 years.
