On 19 May 2024, the Authority of Qianhai of the Shenzhen Municipality issued the “Implementation Measures for Supporting and Gathering High-end Legal Services in the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Legal Services Zone of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (Revised)” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed that joint Guangdong and Hong Kong and Macao law firms established by renowned overseas law firms and domestic law firms (non-national excellent law firms) as well as joint offices of Chinese and foreign law firms are eligible to apply for a one-off startup support of RMB1.5 million. The Measures will be implemented from 1 June 2024 and will be valid for 3 years.
