On 21 May 2024, the General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Action Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Low-Altitude Economy in Guangdong Province (2024-2026)” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to promote the commercialization of power technologies such as aviation solid-state batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, and sustainable aviation fuels, use future low-altitude industry applications and operation scenarios as the driving force, and facilitate universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises to carry out forward-looking and disruptive technology layouts. In additon, the Plan aimed to strengthen the application of artificial intelligence technologies such as large models in the areas of intelligent control algorithms and autonomous flight decision-making for aircraft.
