On 26 May 2024, the General Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Various Measures on Empowering Industries and Business with Artificial Intelligence in Guangdong Province” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to encourage foreign-invested enterprises to set up artificial intelligence laboratories and Research and Development centres in Guangdong Province, actively promote the expansion of international markets and encourage the domestic transformation of offshore innovative achievements. The offshore innovative achievements will be granted similar support as domestic innovative achievements.
