On 17 June 2024, the People’s Government of Huangpu District issued the “Action Plan for Strengthening the Digital Economy and Intellectual Property Protection in the Guangzhou Development Zone and the Huangpu District of Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to encourage the cooperations on digital economy and intellectual property protection among universities, research institutes, and enterprises in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau and aimed to explore the construction and mutual recognition mechanism for digital economy and intellectual property talents, such as data security officers.
