The Exit-Entry Administration of the People’s Republic of China (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Implementing the Policy to Facilitate Permanent Residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region to Travel to the Mainland China” (“the Notice”) on 1 July 2024. The authorities proposed that Non-Chinese Hong Kong or Macao permanent residents who travel to the Mainland China may apply for a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (Non-Chinese Citizens) for short-term purposes such as investment, family visits, tourism, business, and seminars.
