The Jiangmen Municipal Medical Security Bureau, the Jiangmen Municipal Finance Bureau, and the Jiangmen Municipal Tax Bureau of the State Taxation Administration (“the authorities”) jointly issued the “Notice in relation to the Management Procedures for Basic Medical Insurance Participation in Jiangmen Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 4 July 2024. The authorities proposed that Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents should participate in the basic medical insurance registration using Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Residents’ Travel Permits to the Mainland or Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Residents’ Residence Permits, and shall make monthly premiums to tax authorities according to relevant provisions. The Notice is effective from 1 August 2024 and valid until 31 December 2028.
