The General Office of the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Management Measures for Public Rental Housing in Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 29 July 2024. The authorities proposed that applicants who have Guangzhou urban household registration, work or reside in Guangzhou Municipality, and do not own a residential property in the city, or the current residential property is less than 15 square meters per capita construction area are eligible to apply for public rental housing subsidies. The subsidy period is 5 years. The Notice is effective from 29 July 2024 and valid for 5 years.
