On 30 July 2024, the Shenzhen Industrial and Information Technology Bureau issued the “Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Artificial Intelligence in Shenzhen Municipality” (“the Plan”). The Plan supports the Digital Economy Research Institute in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to set up joint laboratories with enterprises, construction of AI innovation centre, promotion of cross-border work on scientific research data in Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone and encouraging domestic and overseas AI enterprises to set up headquarters for innovation and application in Shenzhen. The Plan is effective from 30 July 2024.
