The Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress (“the authorities”) issued the “Regulations of Guangdong Province on Promoting the Employment and Entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao Youth in the Nine Mainland Cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” (“the Regulations”) on 31 July 2024. The authorities proposed to support social organizations for Hong Kong and Macao youth, as well as professional social organizations to organize activities such as visits, entrepreneurial experiences and internship for Hong Kong and Macao youth in the nine mainland cities. The Regulations also encourage vocational training institutions and enterprises in the nine mainland cities to provide vocational skills trainings for Hong Kong and Macao youth in need. The Regulations will be effective on 1 September 2024.
