On 5 August 2024, the General Affairs Office of the Huadu District of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government issued the “Implementation Plan for Supporting the High Quality Development of Timian Town in Huadu District” (“the Plan”). The Plan relies on the Airport Economic Zone to create a transit hub for tourists, participates in the construction of the urban-rural integration tourism demonstration zone in the northern part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), and actively integrates into the cultural and tourism development in the Bay Area. The Plan is effective from 5 August 2024.
