On 6 August 2024, the Harbour Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality issued the “Three-Year Action Plan for Building Guangzhou International Shipping Hub (2024-2026)” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposes national strategies such as the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA) and enhancing the Guangzhou port's position in transport system and shipping functions. The Plan promotes the construction of a joint trading centre for shipping in the GBA, a platform for GBA partnership law firms, a Red Shipping Route in GBA and other collaborations. The Plan is effective from 6 August 2024.
