On 16 August 2024, the Guangzhou Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau issued the “Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Internet of Things Industry in Guangzhou Municipality (2024-2028)” (“the Plan”). The Plan builds an IoT software industry cluster by supporting the National Software Development and Technology Innovation Centre of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Plan upgrades the information network hub capacity and promotes the construction of the Nansha (Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao) Data Service Pilot Zone. The Plan focuses on attracting domestic and foreign head enterprises and encouraging the establishment of headquarters or regional headquarters in Guangzhou. The Plan is effective from 16 August 2024.
