The Development and Reform Commission of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Optimizing and Adjusting the Basic Fares of Public Bus and Tram in Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 21 August 2024. The authorities proposed that the fare is set at RMB 2 for public bus route with an operating mileage of less than 20 km within Guangzhou Municipality. For public bus route with an operating mileage of more than 20 km, the fare is RMB 3. The Notice is effective from 1 September 2024 and will be valid for 5 years.
