The General Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Key Tasks for Deepening the Medical and Health System Reform in Guangdong Province” (“the Notice”) on 30 August 2024. The authorities proposed to enhance the training of medical professionals, with a target of training 2,000 general practitioners and 10,000 resident physicians throughout the year and aimed to recruit and provide trainings for at least 2,000 medical students from the eastern, western, and northern regions of Guangdong Province. The Notice is effective from 30 August 2024.
