The General Office of the People’s Government of Nansha District of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Layout Planning of Elderly Care Facilities in Nansha District of Guangzhou Municipality (2023-2035)” (“the Notice”) on 10 October 2024. The authorities proposed that there should be at least one comprehensive elderly care service centre on each street. For the newly constructed elderly care institutions, the number of nursing care beds should account for at least 80% of the total number of beds. The Notice is effective from 27 September 2024.
