The Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to “Various Measures on Further Promoting the Elderly Care Service Consumption and Improving the Life Quality for the Elderly” (“the Notice”) on 31 October 2024. The authorities proposed to provide elderly care services for residents by establishing community-based elderly care service institutions and introducing elderly care service institutions to settle down in the community, actively leverage the role of Internet hospitals, and provide medical services for the elderly staying in elderly care institutions through a combination of online and offline services.
