On 1 November 2024, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice of Issuing the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the Construction of New Energy Storage Industrial Parks in Guangzhou Municipality”” (“the Plan”). The Plan announced the construction of the first batch of 3 new energy storage industrial parks in Baiyun District, Huangpu District and Huadu District. The authorities state the municipal government shall provide support, on a 1 to 1 basis, to new energy storage industrial projects with investments over RMB 1 billion during the “14th Five-year Plan” period, in addition to the provincial-level rewards.
