The teacher and students of a participating team should come from the same school. A teacher may serve as advisor for more than one team.
  • Each team should submit one entry only, and each student is allowed a single entry to the Competition. Entries resubmitted will not be considered.
  • The ideas and contents of an entry should be aligned with the themes of the Competition.
  • Participating teams must ensure that their submitted entries do not contain any elements that are obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent or disparaging or any contents that are controversial and inappropriate, and do not violate the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, otherwise they will be disqualified from the Competition.
  • Intellectual Property Rights:
    • Entries submitted by participating teams must be their original works, which have neither been released publicly nor used as entries for other competitions of the same kind. Participating teams should ensure that the contents of their entries do not infringe any copyright and publication right. Please visit https://www.ipd.gov.hk/en/home/index.html for details.
    • Any entries that infringe intellectual property rights will not be accepted. The organiser will not bear any legal responsibilities arising from the copyright infringement.
    • Regardless of the result of the Competition, the organiser has the final decision about taking the following actions: copy, use, modify, display or publish and use all or part of the contents of the entries with no compensation in any forms without frequency, geographical and time restrictions; or use or not use the winning entries.

Competition Requirements

  • Participating teams should select destinations from among the cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (they may choose more than one Greater Bay Area city but must include at least one Mainland city of the Greater Bay Area), and conduct research on the cities selected.
  • Participating teams should determine the itinerary themes (up to two themes), target participants (who should be at the key learning stage or study levels of the corresponding division), number of participants and duration (ranging from one to three days), and prepare a budget for their exchange tours.
  • Participating teams should fill in an entry form (Chinese version only) and draw up their proposals (setting out the concepts of itinerary plans, reasons for choosing the destinations and themes, learning objectives, linkages between itineraries and curricula/subjects, etc.) and submit their entries using the specified file format and means.
  • Participating teams shortlisted in the preliminary round will be invited for the final round's assessment interview scheduled between February and March 2025. These teams are required to give a 15-minute presentation and attend a 5-minute question-and-answer session conducted in Cantonese.

Suggestions on Itinerary Plans

  • Linkages amongst spots to visit, learning focuses and itinerary themes.
  • Linkages between itinerary contents and curricula.
  • Spots to visit should be distinctive, representative and appealing.
  • The itinerary should be planned in a sensible manner, such as factoring in the travelling time from one spot to another, number of spots to visit per day, correlations amongst spots to visit etc., to tie in with the learning needs and characteristics of target participants.
  • Feasibility (e.g. whether it is feasible and safe to put in place the travel arrangements and conduct the visits or activities).

Deadline

  • Participating teams should submit their entries via email (thematicmep2@edb.gov.hk) by 23:59 (Hong Kong Time) on 20 December 2024 (Friday). Entries sent by post or submitted in person will not be accepted.
  • Any delay, loss, error, unidentified submission, etc. of data on the part of participants due to technical problems with computers, smart phones or networks will be regarded as failure to complete the submission process and will result in disqualification from the Competition.
  • Entries cannot be modified or replaced once submitted.
