Unilateral Recognition Policy for Cross-boundary Motor Insurance
The HKSAR Government, in coordination with the Insurance Authority, will implement the “unilateral recognition” policy for cross-boundary motor insurance in parallel with the Quota-free Scheme for Hong Kong Private Cars Travelling to Guangdong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (“HZMB”), so that owners of Hong Kong private cars travelling to the Guangdong Province via HZMB can have a more convenient channel to arrange the necessary insurance coverage for driving in the Mainland.
