Chinese Medicine Talent Exchange and Nurturing

Under the guiding principles set out in the “Construction Plan for the Chinese Medicine Highlands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2020-2025)”, public Chinese medicine (CM) healthcare institutions in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, as pilot sites, recruited Hong Kong-registered CM practitioners, enabling them to further their practice within the national healthcare system and to nurture more clinical CM talents for Hong Kong.

The Hospital Authority launched the “Greater Bay Area CM Visiting Scholars Programme” in collaboration with the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with experienced clinical CM practitioners sent to Hong Kong to provide clinical guidance and participate in research-related work in managing severe COVID-19 cases and attending the Integrated Chinese-Western Medicine services in public hospitals, thereby enhancing exchanges between both sides and enriching clinical professional knowledge of the CM practitioners in Hong Kong.
