Higher Education Collaboration Projects

Housing five of the top-100 universities worldwide and being highly internationalised, Hong Kong can nurture talents for the development of the Greater Bay Area and the country. The HKSAR Government will continue to fully complement the “Development Plan for Driving Higher Education Collaboration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” promulgated in late 2020 by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Government and support our post-secondary education institutions in offering education services in the Mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area.

• Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College was established in 2005
• The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established in 2014
• The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) has commenced operation in September 2022
• The first batch of students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen’s School of Medicine have commenced their studies
• Preparatory work for City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong to offer education services in the Mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area are underway
