To facilitate the development of a world-class airport cluster in the Greater Bay Area, the HKSAR Government, together with the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), is actively following up with the Guangdong Provincial Government and Zhuhai Municipal Government on AAHK’s acquisition of the shares of Zhuhai Airport in accordance with market principles, thereby combining Hong Kong International Airport’s edge in its international aviation network and Zhuhai Airport’s expanding domestic aviation network in the Mainland, as well as enhancing the connections between the two airports in terms of passenger and cargo transport.
