Cultural, Sports and Tourism Co-operation

The 14th Five-Year Plan has expressed clear support for Hong Kong to develop into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange. This is full recognition of Hong Kong’s efforts over the years to serve as a bridge between the Mainland and overseas countries in cultural, arts and creative exchanges, and to support the thriving development of cultural, arts and creative industries. The HKSAR Government will continue to capitalise on the advantages under “One Country, Two Systems”, embrace both Eastern and Western cultures, fulfil its role as cultural hub to facilitate exchanges and collaboration between the country and the world, promote Chinese culture, and tell the good stories of China and Hong Kong. The HKSAR Government is also committed to sports and tourism development in order to make Hong Kong a centre for major sports events and an attractive tourist destination, and is actively co-operating with other cities of the Greater Bay Area to promote sports and tourism development.
