The Copyright (Amendment) Ordinance 2022 was gazetted on 16 December 2022 to strengthen copyright protection in the digital environment, so as to ensure that Hong Kong’s copyright regime keeps abreast with times and international norms, as well as meets Hong Kong’s social and economic needs. The Amendment Ordinance has come into operation since 1 May 2023.
